The Norval Foundation is a centre for art and cultural expression, dedicated to the research and exhibition of 20th- and 21st-century visual art from South Africa. I was asked to illustrate the shop’s gift cards and wrapping paper over the Christmas season. Inspired by the exquisite sculpture garden’s flora and art pieces, I created a series of drawings in acrylic ink, then processed them digitally. Moving away from the classic Christmas feel, I focused on the vibrant shapes and colours seen across South Africa, and the garden in particular, over the Christmas period.
